A couple of weekends ago our friends the Spohn's came for a visit. They have a little girl that is just a few weeks younger than Ethan. It was super cute watching them play all weekend and really great to hang out with our friends!
One day we went to the Texas State Fair. Yes, seeing as they like to do things larger here in Texas, it is the biggest in the country. They pretty much fry anything they can get their hands on. We tasted fried beer and fried cookie dough just to name a few (along with friend corn dogs, hamburgers, grilled cheese, popcorn, fried potatoes, etc).
There is a great kids area for little kids there. They get to pretend they are farming and get to see where the eggs and grains start and the path they take to get to our table. Yeah, our kids were a little young so they mostly enjoyed hording all the seeds and eggs in their baskets.
There is also a pretty big petting zoo. Ethan loved the goats the best...
The next day we took it easy and drove around the area. The kids were such troopers and even bigger troopers when we left them with a sitter to have a parents night out (sorry no pictures from that).
I'm pretty sure they could have cared less that we were gone.
On our last day we went to the Fort Worth Stockyards. It's a fun little country town that we bring all visitors to when they come to Texas. The town is full of Cowboys, longhorns, horses and tight jeans.
Carrie and I left the kids with the dad's to have a glass of wine and this is what happened when I was gone.
Ethan bellied up to a bar on a saddle seat. Is this even legal???
Such a good weekend! We can't wait to see the Spohn's again soon!!

2 Thoughts for a Texas Gal...:
Simon would give anything for a ride on that tractor! Cute pics. Miss you guys
His dad is right there, so it would be legal in the state of WI. Although, it's usually frowned upon to serve a minor that young. :)
